On May 20th, 2018 Weser Report published an article about Mobile Age.

You can read the English version:

The Project "MobileAge" aims to support senior citizens through the use of mobile Technologies - it shows, for example, where advisory offices, cultural activities or benches are located.

In the district of Osterholz the research team from the Institute for Information Management Bremen already developed an app together with seniors. The same is now also realized for Hemelingen.

It’s about questions like: Where can I go for a nice walk?  Where are benches? Where are toilets? Where can I find meetings or counselling?

Since the beginning of this year, an interactive digital solution provides information on 70 facilities like meeting places, advisory offices, sports and cultural activities and 17 beautiful Places and paths. Via a map or a list of small photos, you can look for the desired information and call up details. Now also Hemelingen is going to benefit from the expertise of the Institute. Together with local actors of outreach work for the elderly from the network “Alte Vielfalt” and older adults from the district altogether seven walks in the districts Hemelingen, Hastedt, Sebaldsbrück, Mahndorf and Arbergen were described.

The participants compiled information, wrote texts, took photos and created Videos of the walks and point of interest on the way. Thereby the participants learned more about their district and about digital technologies.

How the solution for Hemelingen works and what it offers, who exactly participated and how this process can be transferred to other districts will be presented next Wednesday at the community centre Hemelingen.

For those who have no digital devices, a printed version of the digital walking routes has been produced.

Start is at 10:30 a.m.
