Mobile Age starts data co-creation on district walk in Arbergen
- Created: 30 August 2017

Yesterday we walked with a group of older Hemelingen residents through the neighbourhood “Arbergen”. The focus of the district guide for Hemelingen is on walking routes through the district. On the first walk in Hemelingen an emphasis on historical information as well as information on the accessibility of routes has emerged.
The walk in Arbergen was the beginning of the co-creation of accessible and interesting walks for the Hemelingen district guide. The route that was planned by the participants lead through the “Stackkamp estate” – an former agricultural area, along the “Haas Padd” – a path through an allotment garden area and up to the small lake “Rodenberger See”. On our way, the participants told anecdotes from their personal biographies in the district and provided details on the qualities as well as the barriers on the route. The historical interesting details that came up on the way were deepened while having coffee and cake at a meeting place for older adults. The data material that was recorded on the way offers valuable data material for the evolving district guide. In order to capture the profound historical knowledge of the participants we are planning another walk through Arbergen that will focus on the cultural-historical development of the neighbourhood from a pre-industrial farming village to the neighbourhood of today.
