Centre for the Study of Technology and Organisation (CSTO), Lancaster University
CSTO is located within Lancaster University Management School, a world-ranked international business school that consistently ranks among the UK’s top ten and one of the top 1% of business schools in the world.
The principal aim of the Centre is to promote the critical study of the relationship between technology and organisation in the context of contemporary technological, organisational, managerial and societal developments associated with the emergence of the so-called “information society”. CSTO has a rich tradition of studying the relationship between technology and organisation.
CSTO is home to over a dozen internationally recognized academics from departments from across Lancaster University. It is one of the largest groups of its kind in the UK and Europe. Our focus is on the social dimensions and processes through which technologies are designed, implemented and used in organisations. Our research is conducted in a diverse range of domains, including public sector, health care and non-governmental organisations. Research is conducted in both the global north and the global south.
CSTO will be responsible for the overall management of the project as the leading Project Coordinator.
